The biopoem is a popular form of poetry writing with young people. It’s an easy way to begin writing poetry, to break the ice in helping young writers introduce themselves to one another, to help jumpstart autobiographical or biographical writing, or to be adapted for simple character sketches. There are many variations, but the most prevalent is probably this 11-line form.
For more details on the formula, get your copy of The Poetry Teacher’s Book of Lists. And if you already have the book and would like to offer additions, corrections, or other input, please do so in the COMMENTS area. Thanks!
